Coumarin
Coumarin
Coumarin is a fragrance compound found in tonka beans, sweet woodruff, cassia cinnamon and many other plants. It is responsible for the sweet scent of drying grass and hay.
In cosmetics, it comes from essential oils or fragrance blends. It is one of the fragrance substances that EU law requires to be listed by name on the ingredient list, so that people with allergies can easily avoid them. You will find it in our soaps, body lotions, shower gels, bath bombs, massage oil and hair styling products.
Did you know?: The name coumarin comes from "coumarou" - the name of the tree that produces tonka beans, the richest natural source of this scent.
