Why reach for a face oil?

Natural plant oils are rich in vitamins, phytosterols, antioxidants and fatty acids, which help seal the skin's hydrolipid barrier and limit water loss from the epidermis. They soften, smooth, relieve that uncomfortable tight feeling and help you enjoy healthy-looking, radiant and supple skin. Contrary to popular belief, oil isn't just for dry skin - the right one works well for oily, combination and problem skin too. You can use it instead of a cream or alongside it, in the morning under makeup and in the evening overnight.

Sugarcane squalane

An ultra-light, fragrance-free and hypoallergenic oil suitable for every skin type, including delicate and sensitive skin, and for the eye area. It absorbs quickly, hydrates and nourishes without weighing skin down. It doesn't clog pores, reduces the number and visibility of blemishes and cuts sebum production by as much as 16%, which is why combination, oily and acne-prone skin love it. It also has anti-aging benefits: it gently firms, improves elasticity and evens out skin tone.

Prickly pear seed oil

An organic, unrefined, cold-pressed oil from Madagascar, known as the elixir of youth. Light with a matte finish, rich in phytosterols, gamma-tocopherol and omega-6 acids. It intensely regenerates and hydrates dry, irritated skin, reduces wrinkle depth by 7% and evens out skin tone. Considered non-allergenic, it suits sensitive skin and the delicate eye area, while also regulating sebum and minimising the appearance of pores.

Raspberry seed oil

A cold-pressed oil from a Polish oil mill and one of the most versatile oils in our range. It has a light, velvety, almost matte texture, so it works both during the day under makeup and at night. Thanks to its high concentration of vitamins E and A, it soothes and rebuilds the epidermis, doesn't clog pores and helps prevent blackheads. We recommend it for dry, irritated and allergy-prone skin, as well as oily, problem and mature skin.

Blackcurrant seed oil

An unrefined oil with vitamin E, rich in omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 acids, antioxidants, tocopherols and sterols. Light, fast-absorbing and non-greasy, it's ideal for both morning and evening routines. It hydrates, calms redness and reduces the visibility of fine lines and discolouration. It doesn't cause breakouts, so combination and oily skin can use it too, though it especially loves dry and mature skin.

Plum kernel oil

A cold-pressed, unrefined oil from France with a delightful marzipan aroma - one of our absolute favourites. Thanks to its high oleic acid content, it's one of the light oils. It hydrates, rebuilds the lipid layer, brings relief to dry and irritated skin, and also regulates sebaceous glands and reduces blemishes. It brightens and boosts elasticity, and works real wonders on split ends and brittle nails.

Fun facts about oils worth knowing

• Squalane is a "relative" of our sebum. It's the counterpart of squalene, a natural component of the lipid layer that protects the skin. With age, squalene levels drop and skin loses elasticity and glow - and that's where squalane comes to the rescue. Sugarcane squalane is its purest and most stable form.
• The scent of raspberry oil "disappears". Fresh raspberry seed oil smells seedy and earthy, but this scent oxidises quickly and the oil becomes almost odourless.
• Every batch smells a little different. Depending on the batch, blackcurrant oil reminds us of currant leaves crushed in your hands in grandma's garden.
• Unrefined and cold-pressed oils are pressed without high temperatures or chemical purification, so they retain all their valuable components.
• A "matte" oil isn't an oxymoron. Prickly pear oil and raspberry seed oil leave a velvety, matte finish on the skin rather than a greasy shine.

How to use face oil?

The golden rule: apply oil to damp skin. Simply mist your face with a hydrosol, swipe on a toner or apply a water-based serum, then massage in a few drops of oil. On damp skin, oil spreads more easily and absorbs faster, and the risk of clogged pores is lower. Oil can replace your cream, serve as a makeup base or be mixed into your cream as a nourishing booster. It's also great for facial massage, including with a gua sha stone.
