Benzoic Acid
Benzoic acid
Benzoic acid is one of the longest-known preservatives. It is used in food and cosmetics, and in small amounts it also occurs naturally in some fruits and spices.
In water-based cosmetics, it helps keep the product in good condition throughout its use by limiting the growth of bacteria, mould and yeast. In our range, you will find it in shampoos, conditioners, hair mists and scalp serums, as well as in foundations.
Did you know?: Benzoic acid occurs naturally in many fruits, such as blueberries and cranberries. Its name comes from gum benzoin, the resin it was once obtained from.
