Autumn and winter care for the face and body

How to care for your skin in autumn? The temperature outside is dropping, the days are getting shorter, the scarves, gloves and warm jumpers pulled out of the wardrobe greet us every morning, and in the evenings we snuggle up under a blanket with a hot tea in our hands. The colder months often give us more time for skincare and home spa sessions, which not only let the body rest and relax after an intense summer, but are also the perfect moment for regeneration, hydration and soothing of skin exposed to the unfavourable external factors "attacking" the body in the autumn and winter period. It is not always the case that the arrival of autumn calls for swapping out your entire cosmetics bag :). Let us set aside the thought that the cosmetics we used in summer suddenly stop working. Let us focus instead on what our skin needs in harsher weather conditions such as howling wind, driving rain or frost - the saviours often turn out to be cosmetics rich in unrefined oils and butters that wrap the skin in a delicate film, helping it hold on to the hydration it so needs in autumn, as well as active ingredients that support regeneration and renewal of the epidermis, smoothing the skin and evening out its tone. So - how should we care for our skin and which cosmetics are worth reaching for in the autumn-winter season? Here are our tips!

Rough skin? Go for gentle cleansing and exfoliation

You do not have to wait long for the effects of a scrub - by exfoliating dead skin cells, they leave the skin smooth and soft, and used regularly they support the processes of natural renewal, slow down ageing and let you enjoy fresh, healthy-looking skin.

Halva face scrub - how does it work?

  • gently cleanses and exfoliates dead skin cells,
  • nourishes,
  • softens and smooths the skin,
  • does not cause dryness,
  • opens the pores and makes them easier to cleanse, preventing imperfections,
  • leaves a delicate protective film on the skin.

The exfoliating halva paste reduces TEWL (transepidermal water loss) after the very first use, preventing excessive drying of the epidermis, and it also maintains the skin's hydrolipid balance and strengthens its protective barrier. So if you are struggling with rough, dull facial skin - give Halva a try, remembering at the same time that the skin (both on the face and the body) should have time to regenerate between scrubs - we recommend using it no more than twice a week.

Psst! Halva also works well on dry and rough hands (something that is not hard to come by in the autumn-winter season). It nourishes, softens and reduces the roughness of the skin.

Plum sugar body scrub

Dried-out shins, elbows and knees, rough skin on the arms and shoulders, or thighs and buttocks in need of an intensive massage - Plum is the one that says "good morning" to autumn and winter showers :). Massaging the body with the aromatic, coarse-grained plum sugar scrub stimulates microcirculation and encourages the cells to regenerate. After the massage the skin becomes soft, smooth, nourished with oils and incredibly pleasantly scented - an immediate effect!

Plum scrub - how does it work?

  • exfoliates dead skin cells and refreshes the skin,
  • moisturises, nourishes, firms and improves elasticity,
  • regenerates the skin, improves its overall look and condition,
  • smooths the skin and reduces its roughness.

Dry, irritated, sensitive skin? Remember to moisturise and nourish it

As we prepare our skin for its encounter with cold wind and low temperatures, let us not forget to keep it properly hydrated, nourished and supported in its regeneration. Cosmetics with added natural oils, butters, vitamins and active ingredients will help provide the skin with effective protection against the harmful effects of external factors, locking hydration into the skin and keeping it soft and smooth. Protective lipids will soothe irritated and reddened skin, supporting its regenerative processes.

Care for the skin of the face and body

Single-ingredient, nourishing natural plant oils that wrap the skin in a delicate film protecting it against excessive water loss from the epidermis provide excellent protection against the unfavourable influence of external factors linked to sudden changes of weather and temperature (for instance when we come in from outside into a heated room). Full of beneficial fatty acids, plant oils:

  • reduce the level of water loss from the skin, increasing its hydration,
  • increase the firmness and elasticity of the skin,
  • smooth,
  • even out the skin tone.

Hazelnut oil is our autumn must-have - it takes care of the body, the hair and... the soul ;). It moisturises intensively, adds a layer of oils and regenerates, absorbs beautifully and leaves the skin smooth and soft. It gives the skin a healthy glow, improves elasticity and firmness, and on top of that it has a natural, warm scent that reminds us of nut butter. Autumn and nuts, can it get any better?

Plum kernel oil is another of our favourites - smelling of marzipan (we warn you, this is an entirely natural feature of this oil!), rich in vitamins A, E, K and B, antioxidants and fatty acids, it wonderfully nourishes, softens and strengthens the skin, keeping it properly hydrated.

Autumn facial care with the Rose-Raspberry line

The rose and raspberry scent has been with us for a long time - we fell in love with it at first sniff and from that moment on we were certain it would be a love that never fades, one that would inaugurate at Ministerstwo a line of exceptionally pleasant, nourishing and relaxing cosmetics for the face and body. The Rose-Raspberry facial oil serum was the first cosmetic in the rose-raspberry line, which has been growing for several years now with new products that smell like the sweetest dessert. The bestselling Rose-Raspberry serum is intended for the care of combination, dry and mature skin in need of nourishment and regeneration. In the serum's composition you will find, among others, natural plant oils (including rosehip, raspberry seed, buriti, perilla and sugar cane squalane), as well as plant-based lanolin, a vitamin complex and coenzyme Q10. The serum intensively nourishes, moisturises, softens and smooths, improving the overall condition of the skin. It can be used on its own, in place of a face cream, or as a complement to one, enriching the cream with the protective action of emollients. The next cosmetic in the Rose-Raspberry line is the face cream - Jam. A rich yet well-absorbing cream, whose base (as with the serum) consists of nourishing plant oils, vitamins and coenzyme Q10. Alongside these, in the cream's composition you will find red apple stem cells with a regenerating and anti-wrinkle action. Rose-Raspberry Jam absorbs quickly, moisturises and regenerates, leaving the facial skin nourished, smooth and soft to the touch. And let us not forget the delicate skin under the eyes! On cloudy autumn and winter mornings, the Rose-Raspberry Eye elixir will help brighten the skin around the eyes, which calls for tender care and strengthening. The serum moisturises and intensively nourishes the skin around the eyes, supports regeneration and improves its overall look, reducing dark circles. A subtle massage of the eye area with the roll-on applicator gives a pleasant cooling sensation, which works well in the case of puffiness.

Protection and regeneration of the body's skin

Rich butters, oils and waxes enclosed in handy sticks or classic glass jars are the answer for anyone looking for cosmetics that will bring relief to very sensitive, dry and irritated skin, and also protect it against unfavourable external factors in the autumn-winter period. Stick balms are cosmetics that are hard to part with ;) - we take them along to work, on walks, they find a place in the glove compartment and in a coat pocket, and they come to the rescue of dry hands, noses and cheeks red with cold, and chapped lips. Their super nourishing formula, based on natural plant butters and waxes, brings immediate relief to dry skin and creates a blessed, delicate, protective film on its surface. Ministerstwo's natural balms support the regeneration of the epidermis, soften and improve elasticity - they can be used by people with atopic and very sensitive skin. Available in several scent variants (though we do not hide that in autumn and winter we most often reach for Plum and Choco-Cinnamon ;)).

For those of you whose skin needs an extra dose of nourishment and oils after a bath or a warming shower, we present the natural body butters - Saffron and Flax-Hemp. Their base consists of unrefined shea butter and cocoa butter, plus plant oils and beneficial vitamin E. The lightly whipped formula of the butters makes the mousses easy to apply; on contact with the warmth of the body they turn into an aromatic oil. The body mousses available from Ministerstwo Dobrego Mydła:

  • bring relief to dry and cracked skin,
  • leave the skin nourished,
  • moisturise the skin,
  • improve the skin's elasticity and softness,
  • leave a delicate protective layer on the skin.

Last but not least - unrefined, organic Shea butter. A product dedicated to people with sensitive, atopic, dry skin that needs softening, hydration, soothing and protection against the unfavourable action of external factors. Its tested and confirmed gentleness means that pregnant women, as well as infants and children, can also reach for shea butter when the skin needs care and regeneration. Studies commissioned by Ministerstwo confirmed that the protective film left by shea perfectly shields the skin against frost and wind - it is worth keeping it on your cosmetics shelf and close at hand whenever the skin calls for special care, nourishment and support in regeneration, as well as protection, for example when we set off on a long autumn or winter walk.

Autumn rituals - warming baths for the body and the feet

They simply cannot be missing from autumn skincare! Full of natural plant oils and shea butter, the bath hemispheres are a treat not only for those who take baths in the classic, bathtub sense of the word :). They are the perfect way to have a moment for yourself and a warming bath for frozen, rough and dried-out hands or feet, prepared in a smaller vessel. Baths with the addition of Ministerstwo's bath hemispheres are an exceptionally relaxing pleasure, after which the skin becomes soft and smooth to the touch, nourished and hydrated. The oils leave a pleasant protective layer on its surface, so there is no need to use additional moisturising and nourishing products.
