The Sugar hydrating face toner restores your skin's optimal pH. We've enriched it with acids at a 3.5% concentration, carefully selected so they don't wreak havoc on our faces but treat them with all due gentleness. Inside you'll find gluconolactone and maltobionic acid (PHA) as well as lactic acid (AHA), which bring the skin's pH back to its optimal level. Backed by niacinamide and the other ingredients, the Sugar face toner softens and smooths the skin, soothes and calms it while supporting regeneration, reduces the appearance of pores and imperfections, and evens out skin tone, bringing back a healthy glow.

The natural Sugar toner is packed with humectants - besides the acids mentioned above, it contains a generous amount of the sugars it's named after, which help maintain proper skin hydration. Propanediol also plays an important role - as a penetration enhancer, it helps the toner's ingredients work in the deeper layers of the skin. Medium-molecular-weight hyaluronate supports skin regeneration and forms a delicate film on its surface, limiting the loss of much-needed moisture. But that's not all! There are also our beloved ferments and extracts that have a positive effect on the skin microbiome. They give us an extra boost in the form of a solid dose of hydration and regeneration support. It all complements each other so beautifully that we can't stop marvelling at it - and we say that with no modesty at all.
This (multi)sugar hydrating toner with a wonderfully pleasant texture is a product we can no longer imagine our daily facial care without. We're proud of the results it achieved in instrumental tests and we're going to show them off: an increase in skin hydration of almost 10%, improved skin firmness and elasticity, and visibly reduced pores by an average of 30%. Pretty decent, right?

The pH of our toner ranges from 3.1 to 3.6 - the acids it contains work quickly, so within just a few minutes the skin's pH is restored to its optimal level and you can move on to the next steps of your routine without worrying that the acids will interfere with the active ingredients in your face creams or serums (which may not necessarily get along with an acidic environment ;)).

Apply the toner to a cotton pad and gently wipe over the skin. You can also pour the toner into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and apply to the skin. Use morning and evening on cleansed skin of the face, neck and décolleté. Avoid the eye area.
To complete your routine after toning, you can apply a serum from the Sugar line or another favourite serum or cream - wait a few minutes before applying them so as not to neutralise the action of their active ingredients.

As a birthday present, I treated myself to the whole Cukier line. Having had only positive experiences with your products so far and seeing great reviews, I had huge hopes for it, but unfortunately I was very disappointed.. The toner made my skin feel really tight, and after using (both the mask and the cream - of course not both at once) I felt like my skin was sealed off and couldn't breathe at all, but I gave it a chance. Unfortunately, after a few days they ruined my complexion so badly that it has never been in such a state :( A breakout of almost 20 large, painful, under-the-skin uninvited guests, clogged pores.. The only thing I didn't get to use was the serum, but I'm afraid to try it, because I've been desperately trying to rescue my skin for several weeks now. I'm writing this without any malice, because I love Ministerstwo (there's no other scrub like Chałwa for the face and Śliwka for the body, and the bath bombs are heaven!), but I'm sharing my experience with this line.

Questions and answers about the product

Is a face toner the same as hydrosols or floral waters for the face?

Hydrosols, also known as floral or herbal waters, are produced by steam distillation of plants and mainly hydrate and tone the skin, meaning they restore its proper pH. So we can think of them as natural face toners with a very simple, short ingredient list, in the spirit of minimalist skincare :) The Sugar face toner, on the other hand, has a multi-ingredient formula rich in active substances that not only hydrates and tones the skin but also provides wide-ranging care benefits. Simply put, you could call it something between a minimalist hydrosol and an advanced serum ;)

Does the toner smell the same as the Sugar serum?

The toner's scent is similar, though not identical - in both cases we achieved the scent without adding any fragrance. The noticeable sweetness of both products comes from maltol, while the scent of the Sugar serum is also partly due to eyebright hydrosol, which isn't included in the toner. Because of differences in their other ingredients, the scents of these two products may differ slightly.

Is the toner sticky? Does it work under makeup?

The toner absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky feeling on the skin, so it works perfectly under makeup. You can dispense it onto your hands and spread it over your neck, face and décolletage, or wipe your face with a cotton pad soaked in the toner.

How does the toner work on the skin?

A toner's main job is to restore the skin's proper pH, which can be disrupted by the cleansing products used before toning (for example - though not always - cleansing milks). Depending on its ingredients, a toner can also hydrate, support epidermal regeneration, and soothe and reduce any irritation and imperfections. Choose a product that matches your skin's current needs :)
