Sodium Sweet Almondate
Saponified sweet almond oil
Sodium Sweet Almondate is sweet almond oil that has combined with sodium hydroxide during saponification and turned into soap. So it is not an additive to soap but its very building block - just like saponified olive oil or coconut oil. The finished soap no longer contains any lye.
Almond oil makes a mild soap with a fine, creamy lather that works well for dry and sensitive skin. You will find it in our natural soaps, including hypoallergenic and exfoliating versions.
Did you know?: Saponified oils are all named using one formula: "Sodium" plus the oil's name ending in "-ate". That is how sweet almond oil became Sodium Sweet Almondate.
