Sodium Shea Butterate

Saponified shea butter

Sodium Shea Butterate is simply saponified shea butter - the soap itself. It forms when the butter reacts with sodium hydroxide during saponification: the fat turns into a cleansing fatty acid salt, and glycerin is created along the way.

Shea butter gives soap a hard, long-lasting bar and a creamy lather, while washing stays gentle on the skin. You'll find it in our natural soaps, including our exfoliating and hypoallergenic ones.

Did you know?: Shea butter has an exceptionally high unsaponifiable fraction, so some of its caring compounds remain unchanged in the soap.
