Sodium Olivate

Saponified olive oil

Sodium Olivate is simply saponified olive oil. Soap is made when oil reacts with sodium hydroxide - the fat turns into fatty acid salts (that is, soap) and natural glycerin. The finished bar contains no lye, only the soap itself.

Olive oil soap is mild, creates a fine, creamy lather and works well for dry and sensitive skin. You'll find it in all our natural soaps, including our exfoliating and hypoallergenic ones.

Did you know?: Olive oil soap has a long tradition around the Mediterranean - the famous Castile soap from Spain and Aleppo soap are both made from olive oil.
