Hydrogenated castor oil

Hydrogenated castor oil is made from the oil of castor bean seeds. Through hydrogenation, the liquid oil becomes a hard, odourless wax. In cosmetics, it thickens the oil phase, stabilises the texture and keeps sticks and balms from softening too easily.

It forms a delicate protective layer on the skin and lips that helps limit water loss. You will find it in our protective lip balms, body balms and foundations.
