Threonine
Threonine
Threonine is an amino acid naturally found in proteins and in the stratum corneum, where, together with other amino acids, it forms the natural moisturising factor (NMF). In cosmetics, it usually appears in a complex with other amino acids and salts that recreate the NMF.
It helps retain water in the epidermis, leaving the skin soft, supple and less prone to dryness. In our cosmetics, you will find it in micellar waters, facial cleansing foam, creams, serums, night mask and foundations.
Did you know?: Threonine was the last of the twenty standard protein amino acids to be discovered. Its name refers to the sugar threose, which it resembles in structure
