Sodium Palmate

Sodium palmate (saponified palm oil)

Sodium Palmate is saponified palm oil. It is created during saponification, when oil reacts with sodium hydroxide - as a result, the fat turns into soap, and the finished bar no longer contains lye, only fatty acid salts.

Palm oil is rich in palmitic acid, which makes the soap hard and long-lasting, with a creamy, stable lather. You will find it in our natural soaps, including exfoliating and hypoallergenic ones.

Did you know?: Palm oil is pressed from the fruit pulp of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis), native to West Africa.
