Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate
Sodium myristoyl glutamate
Sodium myristoyl glutamate is formed by combining an amino acid (glutamic acid) with myristic acid, found in coconut oil, among others. It is gentle and well tolerated by the skin.
In colour cosmetics, it is used to coat mineral pigments. This coating helps the pigments spread more easily in the foundation, provide more even coverage, adhere better to the skin and deliver a smooth, natural finish. You'll find it in our moisturising foundations.
Did you know?: Myristic acid owes its name to the nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrans) - nutmeg butter is particularly rich in it.
