Hydroxycitronellal

Hydroxycitronellal

Hydroxycitronellal is a fragrance substance derived from citronellal, a compound found in citrus oils and lemongrass. It has a delicate, fresh scent reminiscent of lily of the valley and linden blossom.

In cosmetics, it is part of the fragrance composition. It is one of the fragrance substances that EU law requires to be listed by name in the ingredients, so people with allergies can easily avoid them. You'll find it in our face cream, massage oil and hair styling products.

Did you know?: It is practically impossible to extract oil from lily of the valley flowers, so perfumers recreate their scent using ingredients such as hydroxycitronellal.
