Glycine
Glycine
Glycine has the simplest structure of all amino acids. It is also one of the main building blocks of collagen, which keeps skin springy.
In the stratum corneum, glycine is part of the natural moisturising factor (NMF). In cosmetics it helps retain water in the epidermis, softens it and improves its elasticity, and when combined with other amino acids it boosts hydration.
You'll find it in our micellar waters, face creams and serums, foundations, lipsticks and lip balms, as well as in our body lotion.
Did you know?: Glycine takes its name from the Greek word "glykys", meaning sweet - this amino acid has a distinctly sweet taste.
