Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)

Sodium bicarbonate is a gentle, alkaline powder. When it meets water, it reacts with citric acid and releases carbon dioxide - these bubbles make a bath bomb fizz, dissolve and release its oils and fragrance.

Baking soda also softens bath water, making your bath more pleasant for the skin. In our cosmetics, you'll find it in all our bath hemispheres.

Did you know?: It's exactly the same baking soda used in baking - it makes dough rise by releasing carbon dioxide.
