Caprylic/capric triglycerides

Caprylic/capric triglycerides are formed by combining glycerin with medium-chain fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. The result is a clear, almost odourless oil with a very light texture.

On the skin they act as an emollient: they smooth, soften and form a thin layer that helps limit water loss without leaving a greasy film. They are resistant to oxidation, so they help stabilise the formula, and they also dissolve active ingredients and fat-soluble vitamins well.

In our cosmetics you will find them in body and lip balms, lipsticks, face and eye serums, foundations and beard oil.

Did you know?: Caprylic and capric acids are named after the Latin word "caper", meaning billy goat - they occur in goat's milk, among other sources, and have a distinctive smell.
