Gluconolactone

Gluconolactone (PHA acid)

Gluconolactone is an acid from the PHA (polyhydroxy acid) group, derived from glucose. Its molecule is larger than those of popular AHAs, so it penetrates the skin more slowly and works much more gently - making it suitable for sensitive skin too.

It gently exfoliates dead skin cells, smooths the skin and evens out its tone. It has several water-binding groups, so it hydrates at the same time. It offers antioxidant benefits and supports skin renewal without disrupting the protective barrier.

In our cosmetics, you will find it in our face toner and face mask, as well as in our lip balms and lip scrub.

Did you know?: Gluconolactone is also a food additive (E575) - among other things, it is used to set tofu
