Beeswax

Beeswax

Beeswax is the building material of honeycombs, where bees store honey and raise their young. Once purified, it becomes one of the oldest cosmetic ingredients - with a pleasant, subtly honeyed scent and a pliable texture.

On the skin and lips, it forms a thin protective layer that locks in moisture and shields against wind and frost, while still letting the skin breathe. It softens and smooths the skin. In formulas, it adds firmness and stability, so lipsticks keep their shape and balms have a rich, compact texture.

In our cosmetics, you will find it in body balms, protective lip balms, lip balms and scrubs, and in our body scrub.

Did you know?: Bees produce wax in glands on the underside of their abdomen and secrete it as thin flakes, which they use to build honeycombs. To make it, they need to eat quite a lot of honey.
