Cetyl Stearate

Cetyl stearate

Cetyl stearate is an ester formed by combining cetyl alcohol and stearic acid, both derived from plant fats. It takes the form of a soft wax.

In cosmetics, it acts as an emollient and structuring ingredient: it softens and smooths the skin, forms a delicate layer that helps limit water loss, and gives creams a rich yet pleasant texture. You'll find it in our overnight cream mask.

Did you know?: The word cetyl comes from the Greek ketos, meaning whale - cetyl alcohol was first obtained from spermaceti. Today it is made from plant oils
