Ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C)

Pure vitamin C dissolves in water and is difficult to incorporate into products based on oils and butters. Ascorbyl palmitate is its ester with palmitic acid, which allows it to blend well with fats.

It works as an antioxidant: it helps protect the skin from free radicals and supports its natural defences. It works beautifully with vitamin E, and together they protect the oils in a cosmetic from oxidation, so the product stays fresh for longer.

You will find it in our body balms, lipsticks and lip balms, lip scrubs and face scrub.
