Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil
Safflower oil
Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) is a plant with yellow-orange flowers that has been cultivated since ancient times. Its seeds are pressed to make a pale, lightweight oil that absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy film.
Safflower oil is rich in linoleic acid (omega-6) and vitamin E. It supports the skin's protective barrier, helps reduce water loss, and smooths and softens the epidermis. It works beautifully for dry skin, and thanks to its light texture, for combination skin too.
In our cosmetics, you'll find it in our hand cream and hand balm, bath bomb, eye serum, and beard and aftershave oil.
Did you know?: For centuries, safflower petals were used to dye fabrics yellow and red - hence the Latin "tinctorius", meaning "of dyers". They were also used as a cheaper substitute for saffron.
