Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil
Jojoba oil
Jojoba oil is pressed from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, which grows in the deserts of Arizona, California and Mexico. Chemically, it isn't a typical oil but a liquid wax - it consists mainly of wax esters very similar to those found in human sebum.
Thanks to this, it absorbs well, leaves no greasy layer and doesn't clog pores. It moisturises, softens and protects the skin against water loss, while helping to keep oily and combination skin balanced. It is also highly resistant to rancidity.
In our cosmetics, you'll find it in our lipsticks and lip balms, face creams, overnight cream mask and beard oil.
Did you know?: Despite the name "chinensis", jojoba doesn't grow in China - it's a desert shrub from North America. The species name came from a misread label on a herbarium specimen.
