Potassium Lactate
Potassium lactate
Potassium lactate is a salt of lactic acid, closely related to sodium lactate - one of the components of the skin's natural moisturising factor (NMF). It binds water well, so it helps keep the skin hydrated and reduces the feeling of tightness.
In a formula, it also acts as a buffer, helping to maintain a suitable, skin-friendly pH. In our range, you'll find it in our face cream, face cleansing foam, lip balms and shampoo bar.
Did you know?: Lactic acid, from which potassium lactate is made, was discovered in sour milk - hence its name.
