Oryza Sativa Lipids
Rice lipids
Rice lipids are obtained from rice bran, the outer layer of the rice grain. They contain fatty acids, phytosterols, gamma-oryzanol and plenty of natural vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties.
They act as an emollient: they nourish, soften and smooth the skin, form a light protective layer on it and help reduce water loss. They work especially well for dry, sensitive skin and chapped lips.
In our cosmetics, you will find them in body lotions, lip balms, face creams and serums, and makeup removing oils.
Did you know?: In Japan, people have washed their skin for centuries with little bags of rice bran called "nuka bukuro" - the bran was considered the secret to a smooth complexion.
