Inulin
Inulin
Inulin is a polysaccharide made of fructose molecules. Plants such as chicory, Jerusalem artichoke and elecampane store it in their roots and tubers as an energy reserve.
On the skin, it acts as a prebiotic: it feeds the beneficial microorganisms that naturally live on its surface and helps keep them in balance. It binds water, softens the epidermis and soothes the feeling of tightness that can appear after washing.
In our range, you'll find it in shower gels, shampoos, facial cleansing foams, creams, lotions and scrubs.
Did you know?: Inulin is named after elecampane (Inula helenium), from whose roots it was first isolated. Today, inulin for cosmetics is obtained mainly from chicory root
