Beetroot extract

Beetroot extract (Beta vulgaris) contains natural sugars, betaine, minerals and betalains - the pigments that give beets their intense colour. Well known from the kitchen, this ingredient works beautifully in cosmetics as a gentle humectant.

Betaine and sugars bind water in the epidermis, so the extract moisturises, softens and reduces that tight feeling. It also helps soothe any irritation after washing, which makes it a great fit for cleansing products.
