Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Powder

Chinese cinnamon (cassia)

Chinese cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia) is a tree grown in southern China and Southeast Asia. Its bark, dried and rolled into quills, is a popular spice with an intense, sweet and spicy aroma.

In cosmetics, the ground bark acts as a natural exfoliant - in soaps it gently buffs away dead skin cells and gives them a distinctive colour. The bark extract has antioxidant and mildly warming properties, invigorates the skin and gives formulas a warm, spicy character.

In our range, you'll find it in exfoliating soaps, bath bombs, and hand and body creams and lotions.

Did you know?: Most cinnamon sold as a spice in Europe is actually cassia, not Ceylon cinnamon. You can easily recognise cassia by its thicker, harder bark
