Alcohol

Alcohol (ethanol)

Alcohol in the ingredient list means ethanol, usually obtained by fermenting plant sugars. In skincare it often enters the product together with plant extracts, where it serves as a solvent - helping to draw out and preserve the plant's valuable compounds.

In such amounts it doesn't dry out the skin, but helps keep the extract fresh and gives the cream a lighter feel. You'll find it in our moisturising face cream with niacinamide.

Did you know?: The word "alcohol" comes from the Arabic "al-kuhl" - originally the name of a finely powdered eye cosmetic.
