Rhus Succedanea Fruit Wax

Japan wax

Japan wax is obtained from the fruit of the wax tree (Toxicodendron succedaneum), which grows in East Asia. It has a light colour, a delicate scent and a texture similar to beeswax, yet it's entirely plant-based.

In cosmetics, it gives products firmness and pliability and improves the shine and glide of lip balms. On the skin, it forms a delicate protective layer that limits moisture loss and smooths the surface.

In our cosmetics, you'll find it in protective lip balms and body balms.

Did you know?: Japan wax has been used for centuries to make traditional Japanese candles. Despite its name, it's chemically closer to fats than to true waxes.
