Vitamin C (ethyl ascorbic acid)

Ethyl ascorbic acid is a vitamin C derivative in which one of the most sensitive parts of the molecule is shielded by an ethyl group. This makes it far more stable than pure ascorbic acid, so it does not darken as quickly in the product.

It acts as an antioxidant - helping protect the skin from free radicals. It brightens discolouration, evens out skin tone and restores radiance, while also helping protect collagen for smoother, more supple-looking skin.

Did you know?: Pure vitamin C quickly loses its activity when exposed to air. Blocking one chemical group with an ethyl group makes this form much more stable, while it still works like vitamin C in the skin.
