Ultramarine (CI 77007)

Ultramarine is a mineral pigment in shades of blue and violet. It was once ground from lapis lazuli stone; today, cosmetics use its counterpart made under controlled conditions from aluminosilicates and sulphur - pure, stable and consistent in colour.

It does not fade in light and is well tolerated by the skin. In our cosmetics, it colours our lavender soap.

Did you know?: The name comes from the Latin "ultramarinus", meaning "beyond the sea" - natural ultramarine was ground from lapis lazuli brought to Europe from Afghanistan, and for centuries it was one of the most expensive painting pigments
