Triolein

Triolein

Triolein is a fat made of glycerin and three oleic acid molecules. It occurs naturally in many plant oils, especially olive oil and apricot kernel oil. In formulas, it usually appears as part of oil blends and as a carrier for other ingredients.

It acts as an emollient - it forms a thin layer on the skin that softens and smooths the epidermis and helps limit water loss. In our cosmetics, you will find it in body lotions, hand creams, lipsticks, lip scrub and makeup removing oils.

Did you know?: Triolein is the main triglyceride in olive oil - it is largely responsible for olive oil's characteristic texture
