Sorbitol

Sorbitol

Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol found naturally in many fruits, including rowan berries, plums and apples. For cosmetic use, it is usually obtained from glucose.

It works as a humectant: it attracts and binds water, moisturizing the skin and easing that tight feeling after cleansing. It also helps keep the product itself properly hydrated. You'll find it in our shower gels, facial cleansing foam and family shampoo and body wash.

Did you know?: Sorbitol was first discovered in rowan berries - its name comes from the Latin name of the tree, Sorbus
