Lecithin
Lecithin
Lecithin is a mixture of phospholipids - fats similar to those that make up cell membranes. That is why it is well tolerated by the skin and "gets along" with it easily.
In cosmetics it plays several roles: it acts as an emollient, softens and smooths the skin, helps limit water loss and is also a natural emulsifier. Combined with vitamin E, it helps protect oils from going rancid.
You will find it in our face creams and serums, eye serum, lip balms, face scrub and hair oil.
Did you know?: The name lecithin comes from the Greek "lekithos", meaning egg yolk - the very source from which it was first isolated.
