Lanolin

Lanolin

Lanolin is a wax secreted by the sebaceous glands of sheep that protects their wool from water and wind. Once purified, it is one of the most effective emollients - its structure closely resembles the lipids of our own skin.

It forms a flexible protective layer on the skin, richly nourishes, smooths and softens, and helps restore chapped skin and lips. It can bind a lot of water, which helps keep the skin moisturised.

You will find it in our protective lip balms, lip butters and lip scrubs, beard oil and shampoo bar.

Did you know?: Lanolin is obtained while washing sheared wool, so no harm comes to the sheep. The name comes from the Latin "lana" - wool and "oleum" - oil.
