Linoleic Acid

Linoleic acid

Linoleic acid is an unsaturated omega-6 fatty acid. The body cannot produce it on its own, and the skin needs it to build the lipids that bind the cells of the stratum corneum. Together with linolenic acid, it makes up so-called vitamin F.

In cosmetics, it supports the rebuilding of the skin barrier, limits transepidermal water loss, and smooths and softens the skin. It helps maintain the skin's balance, so it works well for both dry and blemish-prone skin.

You will find it in our face creams and serums, hand cream and lip balm.

Did you know?: Linoleic acid takes its name from the Greek "linon", meaning flax - it was first isolated from linseed oil.
