Linolenic Acid
Alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3)
Linolenic (alpha-linolenic) acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid from the omega-3 family. The body cannot produce it on its own, so together with linoleic acid it is called an essential unsaturated fatty acid, commonly known as vitamin F.
In the skin, fatty acids are needed to build the lipids that bind the cells of the stratum corneum. Linolenic acid helps strengthen the skin's protective barrier, reduce water loss and soothe dry, rough skin prone to irritation.
In our range, you will find it in hand and face creams, serums and lip balm.
Did you know?: Alpha-linolenic acid is especially abundant in linseed oil - its name comes from the Latin "linum", meaning flax.
