Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate

Sodium cocoyl glutamate

Sodium cocoyl glutamate is an amino acid-based cleansing agent created by combining fatty acids from coconut oil with glutamic acid. It is one of the mildest surfactants used in cosmetics.

It produces a soft, creamy lather and cleanses effectively, while drying the skin and scalp far less than stronger surfactants. You'll find it in our shower gels, facial cleansing foams and family shampoo and body wash.

Did you know?: Glutamic acid, the building block of this ingredient, is the very same amino acid responsible for the umami taste.
