Caprylyl glycol

Caprylyl Glycol is a short-chain glycol related to caprylic acid, found for example in coconut oil. On the skin it acts as a humectant and emollient: it binds water and gives the product a smooth feel.

It also makes it harder for microorganisms to grow, which allows smaller amounts of classic preservatives to be used in water-based cosmetics. In our range you will find it in lightweight face serums and creams.
