Sodium Phytate

Sodium phytate

Sodium phytate is a salt of phytic acid, obtained from plant seeds such as rice or corn. It acts as a chelator - it binds metal ions present in water and raw materials.

This protects the formula from unwanted changes in colour, scent and texture, and supports the action of preservatives. It is a plant-based alternative to synthetic chelators. You will find it in our micellar waters.

Did you know?: Phytic acid is the main phosphorus store in plant seeds - it is abundant in rice bran and cereal grains, among others.
