Phytosterols

Phytosterols are natural plant compounds with a structure similar to cholesterol, one of the lipids that make up the intercellular cement of the stratum corneum. They occur in many plant oils, and cosmetics use them in concentrated form.

They replenish skin lipids, support the protective barrier and help limit water loss. Skin becomes smoother, softer and less prone to dryness and irritation. They work well with ceramides and fatty acids.
