Trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate

Trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate (EDDS) is a chelating agent: it binds calcium, magnesium and other metal ions found in hard water. As a result, shampoo lathers better and cleanses more effectively, and no mineral deposits build up on the hair.

Binding metals also helps protect the product from oxidation and changes in color and scent. Unlike older agents of this type, it is readily biodegradable. You will find it in our deep cleansing shampoo.
