Boswellia Carterii Resin Extract
Frankincense resin extract
The frankincense tree (Boswellia carterii) is a small tree growing in the arid regions of Somalia and the Arabian Peninsula. When its bark is cut, it releases a resin that hardens into pale lumps - olibanum, or frankincense.
The resin extract contains boswellic acids and aromatic compounds. In cosmetics it soothes irritated and reddened skin, supports its regeneration and improves elasticity and smoothness, making it ideal for dry, chapped and mature skin.
You will find it in our hand cream and hand balm from the saffron line.
Did you know?: Frankincense resin is the famous incense - one of the gifts of the Three Wise Men. For centuries it was carried by caravans along the Incense Route from the south of the Arabian Peninsula.
