Selaginella Lepidophylla Extract
Rose of Jericho (Selaginella lepidophylla) extract
Selaginella lepidophylla, also known as the rose of Jericho, is a desert plant from North America known as a resurrection plant. It can survive almost complete drying out thanks to sugars, including trehalose, which protect its cells from dehydration.
Its extract brings these properties to cosmetics: it helps skin and hair retain water, protects them from drying out and supports their natural defence against harsh conditions such as dry air.
You will find it in our family shampoo-gel for hair, hands and body.
Did you know?: Selaginella lepidophylla grows in the Chihuahuan Desert. During drought it curls into a dry ball and can survive like that for a very long time, then unfurls and turns green within hours of contact with water.
