Annatto seed extract

Achiote (Bixa orellana) is a shrub native to tropical America. Its seeds are coated with a red-orange layer rich in carotenoids - bixin and norbixin. Indigenous peoples of the Americas have long used it for body painting.

In our cosmetics, annatto seed extract serves as a natural colourant: it gives soap a warm, sunny colour without the need for synthetic pigments. You will find it in our natural pineapple soap.
