Fucus Vesiculosus Extract
Bladderwrack extract
Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) is a brown seaweed that grows on the rocky coasts of the Atlantic and the North Sea, and is also found in the Baltic. It is rich in minerals, including iodine, magnesium and calcium, as well as polysaccharides such as fucoidan and alginates.
Bladderwrack polysaccharides bind water, so the extract moisturises and softens the skin. Its minerals help firm and refresh the skin, which is why bladderwrack is a popular choice in body care.
You will find it in our moisturising body lotion with seaweed and in our shower gel.
Did you know?: Bladderwrack has distinctive gas-filled bladders on its fronds - they help it float closer to the light.
