Astragalus root extract

Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) is a perennial plant from the legume family, native to northern China and Mongolia. Its root is rich in polysaccharides, saponins and flavonoids.

In cosmetics, astragalus root extract has anti-ageing properties: it smooths and firms the skin and supports epidermal renewal. Combined with acmella extract, it helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and provides a lifting effect.

Did you know?: In Chinese tradition astragalus is called huang qi, which can be translated as "yellow leader" - after the yellow colour of its root.
