Liquorice root extract

Liquorice is a plant from the legume family, and cosmetics use its root - from licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) or Chinese liquorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis), prized in Asian tradition. The root contains glycyrrhizin, flavonoids and saponins.

Liquorice extract is highly compatible with the skin: it soothes irritation and redness, moisturises and helps even out skin tone. It also helps other active ingredients penetrate deeper into the epidermis, making it ideal for multi-tasking cosmetics.
