Myristyl Alcohol

Myristyl alcohol

Myristyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol most often obtained from coconut or palm oil. It has nothing in common with drying ethyl alcohol - it is a waxy substance with softening properties.

In creams, it acts as an emollient and co-emulsifier: it stabilises the emulsion, improves its texture and makes the product glide on pleasantly. You'll find it in our smoothing face cream.

Did you know?: The name comes from myristic acid, which was first isolated from nutmeg (Myristica fragrans).
